![]() ![]() Mugsy was one of those gifts every breeder dreams of. His own show career was brief - He finished his championship in 21 shows. His greatest legacy was as a producer. Bred just 22 times, he produced well to many different lines. None of his 14 champions were bred or owned by exhibitors with "deep pockets" and all finished handily, many with Sweepstakes and Best of Breed wins. His get have done very well at the American Boxer Club national specialty in spite of attending in very low numbers. A son, Ch. Bix-L Time's Triple Double ("Kobe") was Winners Dog and Best of Winners from the 9-12 Puppy Class in 2002. From 2002 through 2009, Mugsy's get have seven class wins and seven class placements in the ABC Futurity and Specialty. We were fortunate to have Mugsy with us for over 12 years. He developed symptoms of degenerative myelopathy (DM) when he was 11 years and 4 months old. He lived over two years beyond the breed average and managed to escape two of the breed's biggest menaces, cancer and heart disease. We let him go when we felt the struggle was beginning to impact his quality of life. Goodbye, sweet boy. You gave so very much to the Boxer breed and to those who were privileged to share your life with you.
