LAKE ISABELLA, CALIFORNIA ![]() Boating enthusiasts find plenty of room to roam at Isabella Lake, with its capacity of 560,000 acre-feet and 11,000 surface acres. They can also find conditions to match their sport - whether it's jet skiing, windsurfing, water skiing, fishing or sailing. French Gulch Marina is nestled in a cove along the lake's west shore, just above the Main Dam. Camping is available next to the marina. Renting aluminum boats, pontoons, personal watercraft, pleasure boats, and even paddle boats and kayaks. The marina has more than 100 slips with lights, electrical outlets and security gates, moorings are also available. Marine gas along with a general store with snacks, beverages and hot sandwiches and ice, as well as bait and tackle items. ![]() There are boat launching ramps located at various points around the lake, including the Main Dam, South Fork Recreation Area, Paradise Cove, Tillie Creek Campground and Camp 9. ![]() Boat permits are required at Isabella Lake. Yearly and 3 day permit fees are among the cheapest in southern California, and are available at French Gulch Marina. ![]() |
